And, since my friend now knows she's having a boy, I was able to make her a sex-specific gift. It was a great day to make a snuggly flannel blanket since the high today was 68 degrees.....seriously, 68 degrees on July 4th!
I made these little hats while watching some crazy movie. I will probably try to use the rest of the blanket and then take the whole batch to the hospital next week, unless someone wants one...or a different one, in which case, email me!

It's the first of its kind because it has a contrasting bottom AND it's got dimension. Now, I have to make an extra special cake for my uncle since his birthday is coming and she's getting a gift!

Unfortunately, now I have to play catch up, but at least I got these and a bunch of other things out of the way today!
I am good with the length of this blanket. It's 36.5". What I am unsure about though is how wide to make it, well, how much wider to make it. It's about 24" wide right now which is not wide enough. I have to start a new skein of yarn, which I have, which is good, but I think that even after completing this blanket, I will have barely made a dent in that skein. So, I guess I could make a bunch of white fuzzy hats, or I could get another skein of this and make another blanket with basically these same dimensions. I do know quite a few expectant mothers right now, most of whom do not know the sex of their baby, so white works. I know, how exciting......NOT!

Well, I just realized that one of my bathrooms has that look. In this photo it does anyway. There's more to it, of course: white tile, a couple of sinks, a toilet, mirror......but here, it just looks blue. It's upstairs and has gotten used about 5 times in 7 years, so not sure how much it matters anyway, but I guess now it's better than the not quite wide enough curtain that was hanging here. It was cute, had a pattern, and COLORS, but now, it's just blue. If it was hemmed, I guess I'd be more in love with it. I'm just not looking forward to unhooking all of those stupid hooks again and then rehooking them since it's already been done several times during the construction process. The hard part, making this without my machine attachments(!), is at least over. 21 janky button holes, without the special attachment. Probably won't be doing this again anytime soon.
